Book A Surf Lesson in Watergate Bay

To book a surf lesson please select an option below.

All lessons take place as part of a group, unless you select the "private lessons" option.

Family lessons require at least one parent and child to be in attendance.

We require payment in full at time of booking to ensure course attendance and to save time on arrival. This is fully refundable up to two days before the lesson date.

Ticket to Ride Surf School

Welcome to the Ticket To Ride Surf School!

We offer surf lessons for every ability level and group size, whether you're a complete beginner or aspiring shredder!

For those that have never surfed before we recommend booking onto a group lesson to learn the basics.

You'll learn about water safety on the beach, how to catch your first wave and then move onto the goal of getting you standing on your surfboard, riding waves, by the end of the first lesson.

You'll have an experienced surf coach with you at all times giving instructions on the beach and hands on assistance in the water.

Our private lessons are tailored to the level requested. This lesson will consist of just your group and one instructor – ideal for individuals, couples or groups of friends.

Coming surfing as a family? We have some great deals to get everyone in the water!

Kids must be 8 years old minimum to joining a group surf lesson. To take advantage of the offers, one adult per booking is required (e.g. a family of two includes one child and one adult). If you have a larger group or would prefer a private lesson, please get in touch for a quote.

Please be advised parking in Watergate can be quite difficult in summer time so please leave extra time to make sure you can arrive 20 minutes before the lesson starts.

What is the minimum age for children?

Kids must be 8 years old minimum to join the group lessons. We run a kids club during peak summer months for children between 6-8 to experience surfing in a fun safe environment, get in touch for details on the kids clubs running times.

What do we need to bring?

All equipment is supplied including, full length wetsuit, surfboard and boots/gloves if required.

We recommend bringing swim gear to wear under your wetsuit, a towel and a snack.

How long are the lessons?

All our surf lessons are two hours long, except for Kids Club, which is one and a half hours.
